Our clients’ home in the Richmond District of San Francisco suffered from piecemeal DIY updates by former owners. The awkward, maze-like result made the home uncomfortable for family living.
The Modern Vic came in at the beginning of the project to help envision a new flow and floor plan that would preserve the gorgeous original details of the home, while opening it up for easy entertaining and more relaxed family living.
The Modern Vic helped our clients choose each design detail in the home—from the kitchen cabinets to the door stoppers—to create a cohesive design they love.
And we were on site through the entire build, working directly with the architects and the homeowners, to help manage the project and make sure our design was implemented flawlessly.

“If it weren't for Sarah and The Modern Vic, home remodel project would never have happened. We needed to renovate our home from top to bottom, but didn't even know where to begin. The project felt so big and overwhelming and we have never done anything like this before. Once we found Sarah, the project really started to take shape. Sarah was great with working within our budget, helping us prioritize where to splurge and identifying areas where we could save some money. We went big in the kitchen and the primary bath, which look amazing. But in spaces where we saved, everything still looks great thanks to her finding us classic looks at a great deal.
All of our friends comment on how great the house looks. Sarah did an amazing job creating a cohesive look throughout the whole house. Neither my husband nor I know anything about design, but we knew how we wanted our home to feel. When you walk into a space that Sarah has created it just feels amazing. I can't tell you why it looks so good, but I feel it!
